Attention-all-aspiring-techpreneursSME South Africa,  an online business and entrepreneurship website, today launched it’s #MyBizIdea competition.

Together with Microsoft BizSpark, a free software and support platform, the competition hopes to give budding ‘techpreneurs’ a much needed boost in the often difficult to enter technology sector.

Entrepreneurs are encouraged to enter their tech-oriented business idea, be it apps, an e-commerce platform, web-development or mobile.

To enter, entrants must submit their business idea and include: their technology-based product or service offering, the market it will serve, and how winning the prize will benefit their business.

According to SME South Africa publisher, Velly Bosega, the competition hopes to encourage entrepreneurs to utilise the power of technology and tap into new markets.

“New technology advancements are creating unlimited opportunities for entrepreneurs who are looking to enter the tech space, so we believe that by supporting techpreneurs we can then help them to fulfill their visions and hopefully create sustainable jobs”.

Prizes:Three winners will be chosen and will each receive a Microsoft Biz4Afrika Launch Weekend package worth R15 000, where they will learn how to retain more customers, improve revenue and become investment ready.

The winners will also be invited to pitch their winning business idea live at the SME South Africa Global Entrepreneurship Week event on 17 November 2014, where one overall entrepreneur will walk away with R50,000 worth of marketing and advertising exposure on the SME South Africa website.
