Tshimologong Content Hub

Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct’s new Digital Content Hub is set to get a boost with the signing of a three-year €950 000 (R14.5-million) grant from the French Development Agency (AFD) next week.

According to the Precinct, the fund will “enable Tshimologong to expand its activities to incorporate audiovisual content creation including augmented reality, virtual reality, holograms, video games, animation and music”.

The Digital Content Hub will, according to a Ventureburn report, be managed by the Braamfontein-based Tshimologong in collaboration with French multimedia and creative companies like Trace TV, Lagardère Group, Gobelins Animation School, Dailymotion, and TV5Monde.

“This partnership will further create market access between French companies and South African startups, driving investment opportunities for digital content businesses,” said Tshimologong Precinct CEO Lesley Williams, in a press statement to Ventureburn.
