Legacy brand Old Mutual has been offering financial services in South Africa since 1845. The company provides financial solutions to individuals, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), and corporates in South Africa, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
To further help local SMEs, the company developed a digital solutions platform called, SMEgo. SMEgo is an all-in-one digital channel aimed at helping SMEs with managing revenue, access to funding, and business insurance. The platform is free to use and available on Web, Android and iOS.
Plans and Features
Featured on the platform is a range of plans including the Basic plan, Premium plan, and the Premium plus plan. A business funding solution, referral programme and business insurance solutions are also part of the platform’s offerings.
The plans feature a range of accounting tools designed to help SMEs manage their revenue streams easily. Users can create unlimited invoices, quotes, credit notes, purchase orders, delivery notes, and customer statements. The invoices can be edited, set up to be recurring and automatically sent to clients via email.
*NEW: Old Mutual has introduced a new R999 Business Bundle on SMEgo. The Business bundle is accessible to all Premium plan users as an add-on. The bundle has solutions for marketplace sellers, accounting, HR, payroll and legal and billing and payment.
Funding
Under the funding tab, the platform allows SME owners to apply for funding to multiple lenders at once. Funding is up to R20 million.
Referral Programme
SMEgo also has a referral programme that gives users cash back when they refer a new business to the SMEgo platform. The business must be signed up to either the Premium or Premium plus plans for two consecutive months.
*NEW Tap-to-pay Solution
Old Mutual has added a new tap-to-pay feature on SMEgo. The feature allows users to turn their NFC-enabled Android phones into point of sale devices. Merchants can easily accept payments on their phone and will only pay a transaction fee of 2.75%
