New Entrants Make The List Of The Worst Passwords For 2017The worst passwords list for 2017 is out and there are new entrants.

SplashData, a security software company, every year releases the list to encourage users to increase their security measures and to highlight the dangers of simple passwords, according to Fin24.

“Hackers are using common terms from pop culture and sports to break into accounts online because they know many people are using those easy-to-remember words,” says CEO Morgan Slain.

Fin24 reports that the worst passwords in the world continue to be ‘123456’, ‘Password’ and ‘12345678’, but this year new entrants have made the list. One of the biggest new entries is ‘starwars’, this follows the recent release of the movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, in US theatres. According to Splash Data, the password has “jumped into the list of five million leaked passwords”.
