Best SA business apps of the year celebrated

The MTN Business App awards, celebrating local talent and highlighting the innovation of South African developers, were held yesterday in Johannesburg.

The winning app was LIVE Inspect, designed for insurance underwriters and makes it possible to perform fast and accurate vehicle inspections from the comfort of your smartphone.

For the first time this year, the awards introduced the Consumer’s Choice category, which is the only awards category not influenced by the judges. The award was won by Zapper, a free QR scanner.

“This year’s awards showed that the mobile developer talent pool in South Africa is increasing every year and the country can compete with the best in the world,” said Kanagaratnam Lambotharan, MTN SA’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer.
