Active Campaign is an email marketing services provider that allows users to send broadcast emails that are targeted (segmented for specific audiences), as well as trigger emails, which are sent based on the website visits and engagement.

You can also schedule emails for specific days, have autoresponders, and email funnels.

To help you get started, they have 125+ email templates that are B2B and B2C friendly. The emails are responsive and work with HTML.

Active Campaign offers multi-user editing, which means you and your team can work on an email campaign together.

To get to know more about your audience, there is a geo-tracking feature, which captures your contacts’ location for geo-targeted campaigns, as well as site tracking, which connects your email marketing to your contact’s behaviour. You are also able to set specific link actions, such as get notifications, and create deals for your contacts.

Main Features

Each package’s features are based on business type, either B2C or B2B or E-Commerce.

Broadcast emails – allows you to send one-time email campaigns to a group of people, or to your whole contact list.

Group audience into segments – use targeted emails to send the right message to the right group of people based on the data you have on them.

Autoresponders – you can create and send automated, sequenced emails to people on your list. The contents of the email are triggered by the individual website user’s actions made on your website.

Multi-user editing – collaborate with your team, edit campaigns together, and give each other feedback (leave comments).

Revision history – have all your email campaigns stored on the system, with the option to revert or compare versions.

App integrations – get your email marketing service connected to your favourite apps such as PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Facebook, and 850+ other apps. You can also integrate with ActiveCampaign and Salesforce.

Geotracking – this feature enables you to get data on where your website users are coming, from including the place of residence by country, by region and by city.

Social sharing – give your contacts an opportunity to share your content including your brand’s message, on social media platforms. This can build your brand’s following and get new eyes on you.

Analytics and Site tracking – integrate Google Analytics and track your contacts’ behaviour.

Pros

The Geolocation and Site tracking features provide detailed information about your user/ contact’s behaviour on the website and record for example the contacts that have visited a certain URL or domain. It targets contacts who were referred from a certain URL and records the device that contacts have used while visiting the website.

Cons

There is no mention of a lead generation tool like webinars being integrated into the platform.
