Put Your Business's Name In Lights

The South African Breweries (SAB) is calling on all entrepreneurs to take advantage of a new and free billboard advertising opportunity.

Last week, SAB launched the first ever billboard in South Africa focused purely on promoting entrepreneurs and their businesses with the hope that they will be seen by thousands of Johannesburg’s motorists.

“As we all know, marketing, especially on a prime outdoor site, is very expensive, therefore many entrepreneurs just starting up or small businesses are unable to market their businesses. SAB is offering entrepreneurs a free platform on which to market themselves,” Robyn Chalmers Director Communications: AB InBev Africa and SAB says.

Here is a break down of everything you need to know about the billboard initiative and how to get involved.

What is it?
SAB will place your business’s ad on their digital billboard which is made up of thousands of light bulbs that will spell out each of the business’s details including the name, service as well as a contact number.

Where is the billboard located?
The billboard is located on Jan Smuts Avenue near Old Parks in Johannesburg, which is a high traffic volume area, and will give good visibility to entrepreneurs.

Can only Gauteng-based businesses be featured?
The billboard is not exclusive to Gauteng entrepreneurs only. If entrepreneurs outside Gauteng feel the billboard will benefit them and the service they offer, they can apply.

How do you register?
For a chance of getting your business featured send an SMS to 33011 and submit the following:

  • Your name
  • Your company name – must be a registered business
  • What service your business provides
  • Business contact number

All businesses need to be registered as legitimate businesses.

How much will it cost?
It’s free.

How long will the campaign run for?
The billboard went live on Friday, 10 November 2017. The campaign ends early December.

Will the concept be expanded to other areas and cities?
According to SAB, not at this stage.
