Marumo Modiba has led corporate education and voluntary compliance at the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), the agency that registers South Africa's companies and intellectual property.
The work is teaching business owners what the law asks of them, from registering a company to filing annual returns, at events such as the Rand Show SMME summit.
Marumo's view is that compliance is more than paperwork: a business with its CIPC records in order is one a funder can check and trust.
