Sakhindoda Community Development is a community-based organisation committed to the development, empowerment and protection of young boys and men within the community.
The organisation runs the Sakhindoda Community Development Boys Camp, a programme designed to guide boys and young men towards positive behaviour, discipline, respect, responsibility and productive participation in society.
The programme seeks to address challenges affecting young people, including crime, substance abuse, violence, lack of positive role models and limited opportunities for personal and skills development.
2. PURPOSE OF THE BOYS CAMP
The Boys Camp provides a safe and structured environment where boys and young men can receive mentorship, guidance and education.
The programme focuses on:
Crime prevention and awareness
Respect for the law and authority
Discipline and good behaviour
Leadership and character development
Entrepreneurship and income-generating skills
Farming and practical skills
Sports and recreational activities
Music and talent development
Positive male role models and mentorship
Understanding the consequences of criminal behaviour
