James Caw is a South African business strategist, entrepreneur, author and financial services professional with more than 16 years of experience across business growth, strategic marketing, foreign exchange treasury and Bitcoin.

He is the founder of Chrysalis Growth Partners (CGP), a specialist business growth consultancy working with established businesses to identify growth constraints, strengthen execution and unlock hidden revenue opportunities. James works directly with business owners and leadership teams, combining strategy with hands-on implementation rather than traditional advisory from the sidelines.

Today, James deliberately limits his work through Chrysalis Growth Partners to a maximum of two retainer clients at any one time. This allows him to work closely with businesses where his experience in growth strategy, marketing, sales and commercial execution can have a meaningful impact.

Alongside his strategy work, James has extensive experience in foreign exchange and treasury. His career in financial services has included international payments, currency risk, treasury strategy and the management of significant foreign exchange relationships. He continues to personally service a small book of larger foreign exchange clients while building his Bitcoin business.

His primary focus today is Bitcoin. James is the founder of SimplB, a regulated South African Bitcoin business helping individuals, families, businesses and family offices buy, secure and manage Bitcoin.

SimplB operates as a Juristic Representative of CAEP Asset Managers, FSP 33933, and is the only regulated South African company focused specifically on delivering regulated Bitcoin self-custody solutions to South African companies. Its services bridge the gap between regulated financial services and genuine Bitcoin ownership, helping clients acquire Bitcoin through compliant financial infrastructure and ultimately secure it using self-custody or managed multisignature structures.

James has personally helped more than 1,000 people navigate Bitcoin and self-custody. His experience places him at an unusual intersection of business strategy, traditional financial services, foreign exchange treasury and Bitcoin. This allows him to approach Bitcoin not simply as a technology or investment, but as an emerging treasury and strategic asset for individuals and businesses.
