General Information

Water has a way of humbling even the most experienced operations.  I’ve spent the better part of fifteen years learning that lesson firsthand and building practical tools to manage it. I’m the Co-Founder and Water Scientist at Acqua Rinova Group, a specialist water advisory firm focused on mining, infrastructure and industrial sectors across Africa.

We work where water risk is real, pit dewatering, slope stability, flood exposure, climate variability and where getting it wrong carries genuine consequences. My background spans both sides of the consulting-client divide. I’ve held roles as Technical Director of Water, Division Manager, Senior Hydrogeologist and Corporate Water Management Specialist, working across Africa and internationally. That mix of consulting and operational experience shapes how I approach problems: technically rigorous but always anchored to what actually works on the ground.

The work I find most meaningful sits at the intersection of hydrogeology, surface water dynamics, and operational decision-making. Building water balance models, dewatering strategies and rain readiness frameworks that hold up under real-world pressure, not just in a report. Some of that work has been recognised at executive level and presented at international technical conferences, which I’m proud of, though the measure I care most about is whether it made an operation safer or more resilient.

At Acqua Rinova Group, we’re building something deliberate: a firm that combines deep technical capability with data analytics and digital tools to give mining houses and project developers a clearer, faster picture of their water risk and practical pathways to manage it.
