| Biography | Dr Phumile Sikiti holds a PhD in Chemistry from Stellenbosch University. He is the founder of MembranTech Energy and Water Recovery (Pty) Ltd, an Eastern Cape and Gauteng-based bio-refinery and gas capture company, where he serves as Business Developer and Senior Scientist. He has more than ten years of experience in chemical formulation, chemical and petroleum analysis, mineral processing, water purification, biorefinery, bioelectricity, and research and development. Under his leadership, MembranTech turns agricultural waste into a range of products. Its goal is to supply affordable, zero-emission transport bio-fuels and special gases across South Africa. The company also provides wastewater sampling, analysis and data interpretation, and develops water treatment technologies for municipal, domestic and industrial clients. It supplies research chemicals to institutions, mining, agriculture and construction. Through its geotechnical and civil laboratory division, it also offers site laboratory and materials testing services to SANRAL main contractors.
