Raging Bull Investment SummitThe inaugural Raging Bull investment summit will focus on radical economic transformation, investment challenges and opportunities in the BRICS grouping and the impact of current and future regulation on the South African investment landscape.

Speakers will include former finance minister Nhlanhla Nene, Public Investment Corporation CEO Daniel Matjila, founder and chief executive of the Small Business Development Institute Xolani Qubeka, and economist Mike Schussler.

The summit will run concurrently with the Raging Bull Awards, which honour members of South Africa’s unit trust industry.  The awards were established 22 years ago to recognize the managers of retail unit trust funds that consistently earn good returns for local investors.

Coronation Fund Managers has won the South African management company award for a record six times, while Allan Gray won it for the fifth time last year.

In 2016, Nedgroup Investments became the first management company to scoop the Raging Bull Awards for both South African management company and offshore management company.

A new honour this year will be the chairman’s award for the best-performing black management company, which will be presented by executive chairman of Sekunjalo, Dr Iqbal Survé, in the spirit of fostering transformation in the investment industry.

The investment summit and awards will be held at The Avenue Conference Centre at Cape Town’s Waterfront on 31 January 2018. (via African News Agency)
