New crowdfunding platform for startups launched

Jumpstart Africa has launched a new funding platform built specifically for Africa that offers capital for projects and initiatives, startups and small businesses.

The funding platform, which was launched yesterday, works by allowing private individuals to pledge funds for creative projects including films, games, and music to fashion, design, and technology.

JumpStart Africa is a new way for creators in Africa and audiences worldwide to work together to make things. The traditional funding systems are risk-averse and profit-focused, and tons of great ideas never get a chance. We thought JumpStart Africa could open the door to a much wider variety of ideas and allow everyone to decide what they wanted to see exist in the world”, the company said on their website.

The platform is certified by the Crowdfunding Accreditation for Platform Standards and protects innovators, and backers who help fund campaigns.
